July has always been a busy month for LEAD to increase exposure to different types of people in the society. This time, we arrive at the Learning and Teaching Expo in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to meet government officials, teachers, students and other related professional educators. This year is the second time for Hong Kong Education City to host such an event for different organizations or companies to come together and share their new products and services on learning and teaching. This annual event provides a great opportunity for education professionals to make use of this platform and exchange knowledge and ideas for the development in education. This is a great chance for us to introduce the kind of work LEAD does.
In the big exhibition hall, series of seminars were held and there were more than 100 exhibition booths ranging from NGOs to universities, schools to companies of educational publishing. We, LEAD, were among one of the many booths. We are honoured to have been part of such a meaningful event, meeting professionals and people that are passionate of improving education through different ways.
We have given out stacks of pamphlets and books. People seem to be very interested in the work LEAD is doing in creative learning as most education professionals believe the importance and emphasis on creative learning in the current society. Some even hope to promote our work and activities to schools. Hopefully, through our simple introductions and explanations, more people will understand the positive outcomes brought by the spirit of creativity and exploring.
The racing track attracted a lot of children and they didn’t want to leave!
Some other exhibition booths have also inspired both of us as we found out that there are many other creative resources for students to use and learn from, for example, playing on subject-based video games by moving around your body allowing the screen to detect. Technology nowadays increases the amount of resources in teaching materials. Students today are lucky to have such a variety of ways to learn.
